Can a bail bondsman issue a warrant for me if I fail to pay for the bond?

I posted a bond to get my boyfriend out of jail. However, I did not have all of the money to pay for the bail so the bondsman is letting me make payments. I missed the last payment. Can the bondsman have a warrant issued for me?

The bondsman can't issue a warrant for your arrest for several reasons. First, he doesn't have judicial powers and, second, you haven't committed a crime. However, it's you boyfriend who is the one facing grief if the bond payments are not kept. The bondsman can pick him up and take him to court and ask to be released from the bond. The net result would be that your boyfriend would be taken back into custody until bail is again posted.
