Police detectives questioned my son about marijuana sales on his school campus. I was neither asked permission to question him nor was I asked to be there. Is this legal?

Yes, they can; and your son can decline to talk to them, which is what I have always counseled my kids to do. Nobody, including kids, should talk to the cops without an attorney present, and all kids should be taught not to talk to them without a parent or attorney present. But the cops are free to try to talk to them, just as anybody is free to try to talk to anyone. www.kennedyforlaw.com
