Will a rejected possession of controlled substances case show up on an FBI background check?

I was arrested for possession of a controlled substance in California. I bailed out of jail and when I went to court the case was rejected for lack of evidence. It sounds like the prosecutor did not file the charge. I will apply for a job that requires a FBI background check and possibly classified background check. Will it show up and will I have to explain it in the future?
