On July 23 at the 1000 block of Raymond Street, a burglar entered a residence by unknown means. They took a laptop computer and power tools. A far more obvious burglary occurred sometime between July 23 to 24 on South Walnut Street. The thief kicked in the door to gain entry and took two television sets along with assorted household goods.
Between July 17 and 24 a robber cut the lock box off the front door of a vacant home at the 1800 block of Canfield Avenue. They took copper piping from the home. While this might sound strange, many thieves sell stolen copper as scrap metal for profit. Vacant homes are particularly attractive for these types of criminals.A similar crime occurred sometime between July 23 and 24 at the 800 block of Clifford Avenue. Someone forced a window there to gain entry and then took a copper pipe. These types of crimes can cause a great deal of grief to homeowners, since repairs can be very expensive.
Between July 23 and 24 someone forced a window air conditioner unit off of a platform at the 1100 block of Delos Street. They did so to gain entry through the opening they made. They then took a sound bar, five television sets, a DVD player, a laptop computer, a tablet and two expensive video game consoles. Stolen electronics are often easily exchanged into cash.A slightly more curious crime happened at the 1600 block of Liberty Drive on July 24. A suspect walking into an apparently unlocked garage and took a fancy mountain bike. These crimes often happen as a result of people taking the opportunity to steal something from an unsecured location.
