Officers from the San Diego police department are investigating an attack on a victim who was stabbed outside of a library. At around 12:20 PM on November 2, a man was standing outside of the city library. That particular library is located in the San Ysidro neighborhood on San Ysidro Boulevard.

Testimony provided by a police officer states that the victim was involved in some form of argument with another man. The argument got heated, and eventually the suspect pulled out a screwdriver. The suspect then attacked the victim, age 25, which caused several injuries.

The victim suffered wounds to both his hand and his shoulder. As a result, he was taken to the hospital for treatment. Considering the nature of the injuries, it serves to reason that the victim will be able to recover from his injuries to some degree. Nevertheless, an attack with a screwdriver is serious. Medical personnel will probably have to ensure that the victim does not develop some sort of infection from the aforementioned wounds.

Apparently the suspect left the scene. While he made off before anyone could apprehend him and sort the situation out, some information is available in regards to his appearance. Reports describe the suspect as a Hispanic male. He is probably in his mid 20s, and measured around 5 feet 8 inches. Apparently the suspect was last scene wearing a blue shirt and white shorts. He had a blue San Diego Chargers cap at the time of the event.

Those with information are urged to contact the San Diego police. While most people think of stabbings as somehow involving knives, this often is not the case. People involved in street fights will arm themselves with whatever they can find. This is why so many common household objects end up making their way into these kinds of altercations. Improvised weapons can often be made out of almost anything.

Investigators have not released a motive in the case. Emotions usually play a huge role in these kinds of crimes. A fight may have broken out over any topic, though domestic disputes are often the most common.
