I suggest that your friend hire an attorney as soon as possible. If she has a bench warrant from a failure to appear on a DUI charge it behooves her to hire a criminal defense attorney to represent her. If she is unable to afford one she should contact the Public Defenders Office.

My girlfriend just got pulled over for speeding and had a bench warrant from a DUI two years ago. She is in custody awaiting a court date. What kind of charges could she face? Should she hire an attorney?
