Attorney Mark O'Mara who is widely known for the defense of George Zimmerman sat down with Eric Bersano to discuss the trial of Derek Chauvin.  Mr. Chauvin is on trial for the murder of George Floyd who was killed on May 25, 2020.  George’s death sparked a series of protests across the country bringing awareness to the mistreatment of people of color by police .

Mark O’Mara is especially qualified for this conversation since he is a Board Certified Criminal Trial Law attorney and a Civil Rights lawyer.  He has been on both sides of the courtroom in cases similar to this trial.  Mr. O’Mara references a case he recently worked on where Samuel DuBose was shot and killed during a routine traffic stop.  The officer was acquitted.

Mark gives great insights as to how both the defense and prosecution with approach the case.  He covers the likelihood of Derek Chauvin taking the stand, how the video of Mr. Floyd’s death will play throughout the trail and many other details that are coming to light.

There is also an interesting discussion on how the $27 million settlement to the Floyd family may help or harm either side in the trial.  Watch the full video below.
