This is a far more complex issue than can be answered in this sort of setting. Much of it depends on what the conviction was for, what the record of the individual looks like, how the person performed on probation, whether all of the terms have been satisfied [other than the passage of time], what the probation officer thinks about the matter, what the job is we are talking about, whether it has actually been offered, what sort of work history the person has had, how old is the person, etc. There are a host of considerations, but those are among them.
